The Trails Community Network is an effort to share resources and uplift our community in response to COVID-19. We greatly value all of the children, families, and staff in our community, and want to provide the opportunity to care for each other, even while we may be apart. Through the Community Network, you can provide or request materials, and we will try to connect you with another family or individual who can receive or provide whatever you have in mind. If you are moving, going through materials your child has grown out of, or just buying some extra items on your weekly trip to the store, we would love to pass something on to care for a member of our Trails family.

Once we have matched two families for giving/receiving resources, we will facilitate a drop off at Trails or help you make special arrangements if need be. Through the form, you can choose whether you would like to remain anonymous or connect with the family or individual who is matched with you through email. Please take a look below at some suggestions for what could be passed on through the Community Network, however these are just suggestions not requirements. Feel free to make any request or offer you may have in mind and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

COVID-19 Resources

The following are resources to help assist you and your family during this uncertain time should you need them. Thank you to our partner organization El Valor for compiling some of these resources.

Call4Calm is a hotline created for Illinois that connect residents with mental health professionals or resources for emotional/mental, housing, food, or unemployment support.

  • For emotional support, text “TALK” or “HABLAR” to 552020. A mental health professional will return your call and speak in English or Spanish, depending on your text message

  • If you need different kinds for assistance, you can text “UNEMPLOYMENT,” “FOOD,” or “SHELTER” for access to those resources.
